Сastle Châteauneuf - pearl in burgundy crown
---
- текст для моих зарубежных читателей-
Only 43 kilometres away from Dijon, capital of Burgundy, in nice village there is a classical castle with rich history. The name of this castle is the same as close village has - Châteauneuf. The castle was built by Jean de Chaudenay in XI century. Here was buried one of the last castle's owner.
Castle stays on the rock among fields, that's why it is visible for many kilometres around
At the beginig castle consist of only one tower, but time to time castle grow. In XV century Jean de Chaudenay gave castle Châteauneuf to his advisor Philippe Pot, who rebuilted it and castle start looks like we can see in ourdays. In 1936 last owner presented it to the state
White colour shows parts of castle witch was built in XV century
Family coat of arms of castle's owners
Main part of castle where you can find interiors of different era
There are an original tiles on the floor
There is a grave of Philippe Pot in the chapel
As castle owned by state (by Burgundy if to be precise) it works as ordinary museum - all year around except main holidays and mondays. On winter time, from october to may, it is open from 10 till 12.30 and from 14.00 till 17.45, and booking office closing 30 and 45 minutes before. On summer time castle is open from 10 till 12.30 and from 14.00 till 18.45. Price of full ticket is 5 euro.
That's a pity but this large building in inside yard has lost its interiors but it still has remains of fireplace, windows and partitions
View on the drawbridge and collapsed tower
Mulberry
Visitors of castle can walk around the village, it is admitted as one of the most beautiful in France, but I will write about it separately.
There is another castle close to Châteauneuf - Comarin
I want to thank for help with this visit сhargée de communication, relations clients et réseaux sociaux of
Comité Régional du Tourisme Bourgogne / Franche-Comté Penelope Law-Vinter
