In Watson Lake (Yukon), trail users can make their mark by nailing up a signpost. Aptly named “Sign Post Forest,” the anarchic art installation began in 1942 when a homesick American posted a sign pointing toward his home town of Danville (Illinois). Flash forward a few decades and the forest now consists of over 100,000 signs from all over the world. . . . . . : @wild.andfreephotography #TheGreatTrail #LeGrandSentier #getoutside #bettertakesaction #MakeItGood #canada #ExploreCanada #canadatravel #travelcanada #exploreYK #yukon #watsonlake #signpostforest #itsasign #signs

Our last Canadian stop, Watson lake was unplanned and full of surprises. This little town far north is pretty much in the middle of wilderness, one road and hundreds of kilometers on nothing each way. Luckily our car decided to break down just 5 kilometers away and just when one of the locals passed by. Being almost broke at this point, no hotel, waiting for a week for it to be fixed wasnt making us very happy. But that one local, a member of First Nations changed our experience. She let us stay with her, told us stories and about life in the North and showed us the nicest places around. A single person changing the worst experience of our trip to the best one. That's what traveling is all about and I'm gonna do the same when I come back! . . . . . #canada #alaskatocanada #alcan #yukon #farewellalaska #travelyukon #roadtrip #alaskahighway#watsonlake #signpostforest #enjoycanada #tourcanada #natureaddict#earthpix #theoutbound #wildernessculture#nakedplanet #bestvacations #natgeo #travel
